Yes, we are here at Yosemite, and I would have posted sooner but internet/cellular is hard to come by. This is the 6th time I’ve been here in my life, the first being when I was 16 years old. I’m enjoying the spectacular beauty more this time than ever before…as I find usually happens for me these days.

I will concentrate on pictures today, (although the pictures I’m taking are a disappointment to me) and try to give more information in the next blog.
There has been rain, sleet, hail and snow…

And some fog…

El Capitain in fog.

And in the sun.
Lots of Lupine along the road…

It’s hard to take pictures of it because there is no where to pull over….

The Dogwood are blooming everywhere this time of year…

Dogwood along the Merced River.

And the water is running strong…all the falls are flowing full force.

I HAD to let Joy and Shiloh take a dip in the Merced River…

I was surprised they wanted to get into that cold water. As soon as they got out it started to snow!

The beauty here is so far beyond what I’m showing you with these pictures! It’s another bucket worthy destination, but the crowds even this time of year are astonishing! I’ll talk more about that in the next blog.
Leaving here tomorrow, Thursday, and planning to be back in the Monterey area on Friday. The drive out will be a nail biter, as was the drive in. Slow and steady is the name of the game!
I’ll be back on line after I leave here, hopefully by Thursday afternoon.
Micky, I would love to get together for coffee, tea or even a meal if you have the time when you reach our coast!
Yes me too Patty! Let’s try! Coming in on Friday for a few weeks.
Stunning photos Micky! Especially that first one.
Thanks Marsha. I guess I can’t expect more than that with an IPhone can I? One of these days maybe I’ll buy a camera!
Love the pictures
Hi Ego, thank you. I could have taken a million of them!
Great pictures, thank you. Be so careful driving out. I’ve done that in a car, very scary…very slow
Oh Lordy Alice…I’m in an RV park in Chowchilla now, trying to get myself together after the drive out….which was actually better than the route I took in. Will blog about that…
The pics reflect the “spectacular beauty” you mentioned. Thx 4 sharing.
Your welcome Eileen, my pleasure. I’m glad you enjoyed the pictures.
Breath taking photos! Must be really awesome being there. Love the pups in water😊.
Hi Andrea, and the dogs love being in water…even when it’s so cold! But gee, try and give them a nice warm bath and you would think I’m torturing them! 😊. Very glad you enjoyed the pictures.
Awe inspiring Micky! I love the shot of Joy and Shiloh, too!
Hi Marilyn, yes the whole place is awe inspiring…well I’m sure you’ve seen it too. Glad you liked the picture of Joy and Shiloh!
Mickie…your photos are better than you realize….The beauty is stunning! I especially like the photo of Joy and Shiloh in the Mercer River. Our dog prior to Guinness was a golden, and he even jumped in through the ice one time…couldn’t keep him out! You brought back such a happy memory for us! Do you have a hookup where you are? or do you run your furnace of have a Wave 3??? I’m always cold, so I’m curious how others stay warm…
Hi Sharon, wow he jumped in through the ice…that makes me shiver just thinking about it!
No hook ups in Hodgdon Campground. I use my furnace and my “Little Buddy” the small Mr Heater propane portable heater. I have some solar which, even in the overcast weather kept my battery charged enough for a bit of furnace use. I don’t run heat at night though, just use lots of blankets and dogs. 😊
I have been in Yosemite during each of the four seasons…and spring, to me, is the best due to all the waterfalls going, including a few which only run for a month or two all year. Winter is also nice, less crowds, and the snow and ice make for great scenic views. But yes, the crowds are so much worse than when I first visited as a young child, that is for sure.
Hi Dave and Scruffy,
Same here, I like spring and winter best at Yosemite. All the falls and the Merced rumbling along through the rocks and the Dogwood blossoms are all so beautiful in the spring, and the whole place covered in snow with less people in winter are all beautiful advantages of those seasons.
Micky, I would love to give you a hug when you are in Monterey. Just call me and we’ll figure something out if you want to. Are you parking at a friend’s house locally? There is a nice and small campground in Carmel Valley. The name changed and I can’t remember the new name but it is on Schulte Rd. Near mid-valley but may be considered To be in Carmel. Loved the shot of the Dogwood on the Merced. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, I wrote down your phone number and then edited it out of your comment, this is a totally public site, anyone can look at it, so I wanted to be on the safe side.
Yes, I heard about some RV parks in the Valley but they are REALLY expensive apparently. Like $70 a night something.
Yes the Dogwood are just so beautiful. I was at Yosemite about 25 years ago (!!!) this time of year and loved them. Was so looking forward to seeing them again!
Just awesome!!! Glad you are having such a wonderful adventure! xo
Hi Sharron, thank you! Glad you are on the adventure with me!
