Can you guess where I am from these pictures?

Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield, California! (highly recommended!)
I thought the oranges would be all gone by now, but in the early evening yesterday, there was a BIG wind. It only lasted a couple of hours, and gusted at 35 mph….so they say…but when it was finished, the last of the oranges (almost), were on the ground, to be harvested by the folks who are here at the park.

They aren’t all good, some are over-ripe, but many are as juicy as they can be!

And this….
easily becomes this! Yum! Too bad I didn’t have any champagne!

They are even in the dog run area.

And the flowers compliment the color scheme.
The temperature here only reached 76 degrees yesterday, which was a great relief from the 100 degrees it topped out at in Needles when we were there, and the 87 degrees near Barstow where we stayed. Ugh.
Tonight the plan is to stay in Chowchilla, and then on to Yosemite National Park…where it looks like we’ll be seeing snow again!
gr8 pics!
Thanks Eileen!
Yes,.. you must of been watching Russ.
Who’s Russ?
RVerTV. What a wonderful place to stay. Great pictures.
Have a TV. I’ve only watched it a couple of times this year. Sounds like something worth watching though!
I’m not being clear. RVerTV on YouTube. He stayed in an RV park covered in orange trees recently. Looked like such a vcool place. Stay safe.
I want some Vitamin C…

Sweeeeeeeeet. (Sorry easy pun but I couldn’t resist) Can’t wait for Yosemite. Do you expect to be able to get your rig in the Park itself of are you staying somewhere else? Also are dogs allowed on trails at Yosemite?
See so many questions, I told you I can’t wait. Sorry.
Hi Rick, Im happy to answer questions! I have reservations at Hodgdon Campground, which is just inside of Yosemite…not in the valley, so I can leave WS there, and just drive JR the rest of the way, plus there are things to see on the way to the valley. There is an area adjacent to the campground where dogs are allowed on trails, and they are allowed on most trails in the valley but nowhere else, basically. 😕. It’s all about the wildlife, they say.
Due to Joy not being able to walk far at this point, that’s ok for us. We will see what we see, it will be beautiful, and there ya go. What I’m really looking forward to are the waterfalls this time of year. If the dogs can’t go and the trail takes more than an hour or so, round trip, I will have to see them another time. At least it will be cool in the park so dogs in JR for an hour will be ok.
I can’t wait for Yosemite too!!
You should always carry at least a small bottle of champagne just in case!!! 🙂
Very true Marsha. I did have some Pink Moscato though, and added a little. Pretty good! 😂
Hi!
Retired lady here with a small tag along camper in Florida getting ready to set out across this gorgeous country. Very excited, just wish would know where to meet up with or caravan, whatever other single campers along the way. Don’t mind being alone, but it’s fun to share some things and sights. I admire and read your blog with great interest! Any ideas?
Hi Dottie, sorry it took so long for this to show up and for me to answer. I’ve been out of touch pretty much, at Yosemite.
It’s REALLY exciting to hear that you are about ready to set out on your adventure!
As for ideas about meeting up and caravans, there are women’s groups, and there are groups according to the kind of RV you have, and there are singles groups too. And sometimes you just meet someone by accident and become good friends and decide to meet up later!
I’ve met up with Casita people and friends I’ve made and friends I already had. I will google this and get back here shortly!
Here are some groups Dottie.

I can’t vouch for any of those because I’ve never been part of any of them. There is also
escapees.com
Escapees is a huge club that does many things, and one of them is to offer a discount at some RV parks, and they also have their own RV parks. They also have a thing called ‘Birds of a feather’ which are sub groups you can join with them. Anything you can think of, they have a group for it with Escapees. There is a yearly fee, which I think is $45.
I have been a member of Escapees since I started out on this venture.
Hi Dottie..I am also about to set out on my first adventure. Would be interested in talking to you. I think Onewanderingspirit could give you my email address, without me posting it here, if you would care to converse.
