I hope everyone is right where they want to be for the holidays…or almost there. This is a first for me, spending Christmas in the middle of the Mojave Desert, but it feels good.
It’s been a sweet time here at Sawtooth Canyon. Peaceful. Quite. Temps slowly rose to reach the high 60’s, from a few days of low 50’s. Starting today, they are on their way down again, but further down than before. High winds are forecast for tonight, with gusts up to 50 mph, slowly calming tomorrow (Christmas). We will be leaving on the 26th.
I did a little Christmas decorating outside here….a small wreath, and some red tinsel garland on WS and the Joel Pole.
Inside I have my Christmas lights, and Christmas music, plus a few bells and bows.
There are different places to walk every day, and Joy and Shiloh can be off leash.
One morning when I thought they were waiting patiently outside for me to take them for a walk, it turned out Joy had gone down to our neighbors, Shirlee and Doug, and had pancakes for breakfast.
There are rocks here everywhere. Mountains of rocks. Boulders. Pebbles. Strange formations.
Amazing colors close up.
When I hold a piece of cold granite in my hand, I’m filled with wonder. What cataclysmic events occurred to form this beautiful stone?
We put a high monetary value on some rocks…diamonds, crystals, gold, silver, a beautiful granite slab for a kitchen counter, etc. But I think we only have a glimmer of an idea of their real value…so much we don’t know or are just beginning to learn about their power in healing, energy, communication, and what else?
As we contemplate the miracles of the universe….Merry Christmas, and may you be blessed with health, love, peace and joy on Christmas and always!

These are wonderful words and pictures! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and the kids πππ πππ

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Micky!
Same to you Patty!
Al and I had a giggle over Joy’s pancake breakfast. Thank you for the gift of your thoughts and pics. Sammy, Al and I send our wishes for a very merry Christmas to you, Joy and Peace (Shiloh).
Hi Marian. Merry Christmas to you, Al and Sammy! Isn’t that just like Joy with the pancakes? π
Have a very Merry Christmas and a HAPPY New Year!!
Hi Krystina. Best wishes to you for Christmas and New Years too! Way different Christmas for us this year, huh?
I am missing my kids big time. My first Christmas without them π¦
Here at Tier Drop RV Park it has been a whirlwind. Two nites ago we went caroling to three RV Parks near by in our decorated hay wagon and last night we went around our park for an hour. What a blast. Here on Christmas eve you walk around the park and many, many people have food and goodies (lots of soup) out in front of their RV’s. You stop to partake and visit with everyone. The park also has a big “feed” up at the clubhouse. Fun, Fun and more Fun.
Have a VERY Merry Christmas Micky…and the BEST New Year ever. Stay safe and kiss the babies for me. xxxooo
Some good and some sadness. Makes you realize how much you love them. (Your kids). Sounds like you are keeping plenty busy! Enjoy!
Have a wonderful holiday! My son lives in Ridgecrest. The desert has its own beauty. Enjoy.
Hi Carol. Yes the desert, so different but so beautiful too. Best wishes for your holidays and the new year!
Merry Christmas to you too Micky, Here’s to a wonderful and New Year.
Thank you Rick! Good to hear from you.
Merry Christmas my brave, adventurous friend!
Hi Deb! Adventuresome, I’ll give you that, but not so brave really. Focusing on the positive and living my dream, yes.
Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!
Merry Christmas! Woof Woof!
Merry woof woof to you too Linda!
“a very merry Christmas and a happy new year” (but just imagine John Lennon singing it to you….) to my dear wandering spirit friend and her furry companions!
“And so this is Christmas…” I still feel the loss of John.
Thank you My Sweet Marie! Merry Christmas and a great new year to you and Ray!
Hey Micky! Thanks so much for the pictures and update. I loved your thoughts on stones. So much power and energy which took millennia to form, and we just walk on past! You have such beautiful insights. Miss you much my friend. Warmest Holiday Wishes to you and to precious Joy and Shiloh. (How did you get that Santa Icon?)
Thank you for the warm holiday wishes Mary. We especially need the warm part right now. 30 degrees outside as I write and I haven’t gotten out of bed to turn the heat on yet.
Santa did manage to find Joy and Shiloh out here in the desert! Amazing guy!π . And i saw that you found the icon.
Thanks for the Christmas wishes. I loved wish that everyone was right where they want to be for the holidays. We celebrated the birth of Christ with family yesterday and will head to my Mom’s today for another family get together. Then our gift to ourselves, we head out in our Casita tomorrow for some delightful peace and quiet. Have a blessed and safe 2015.
Oh Reine, enjoy! I’m glad you are getting some well deserved peace. I know you and Paul are having a wonderful time!
I sent Christmas greetings to you, Joy, and Shiloh but apparently the internet gremlins gobbled it up because I haven’t seen it post. Oh, well, better late than never…and a Happy, healthy, safe, and prosperous New Year to you and all your blogerinos.
Cat Lady
