One week ago today I waved good bye to friends and neighbors in Seaside, CA. It’s been 7 days of learning….nonstop learning. As I leave Klamath this morning I’ll be heading up the Oregon coast, and the next 4 nights staying at 2 State Parks that may or may not have internet access, so it may be awhile before you hear from me.
Facts and figures….the rate here at Mystic Forest RV Park is $34 for full hookups, and with Good Sam discount it was $30.60 per night. I filled up the gas tank yesterday across the street and a quarter mile west at $4.05 a gallon.
Even with all that mountain driving I did I’m getting about 13.5 mpg. Before the mountains it was about 2 mpg better than that.
This morning first I’ll have coffee. Of course. 🙂 Then Joy, Shiloh and I will go for a walk, and after that I’ll start preparing to leave. I’ll write when I can!
Do you belong to Passport America (PA)? I couldn’t afford those rates on a regular basis. You can camp at PA parks for half price. Check into this if you don’t have it now and please give my name as a referral. You’ll probably need my member number so send me an email and I’ll give it to you.
Have a safe trip. We’ll be thinking of y’all.

No Passport America yet. I did promise someone else I’d use her name awhile back….I just haven’t done it yet. I guess I better get at it. Tonight I’m at an Oregon State Park and it’s $24 but $12 with senior pass which I do have. And I do have internet….I’m surprised!
Safe travel! And yell a hi to angel when you stop in Oregon. 📣
Where is she? I wonder if I went by already?
You are doing a trip I want to make. I have driven it in my car, staying in motels but never dragging my Casita. I will be following you with great anticipation!
I found your blog on R V Sue..
I am not single, but my husband does not care to travel so I go alone. You inspire me!
Bon voyage !
Hi Lee, I’m glad you are here! It certainly is beautiful. Hwy 101 has LOTS of twists and turns though so be prepared! I think staying under 200 miles a day and not traveling every day helps. I actually went over 200 miles yesterday, but not by much.
Sounds like u have started to unwind – coffee always good – hope weather A1 – enjoy your next leg of your adventures cheers….
Where I am now it’s about 50 degrees, has been foggy most of the day and windy….here on the Oregon Coast! I made hot chocolate!
Congrats on a great first week! Sounding good, sounding happy:-)
Thanks Deb. Yes I’m happy! And I worry. I’m relaxed…and I’m tense. They all take their turn. It’s such a life change and a huge learning experience…I know you get it. 🙂
