Talking To The Trees

IMG_0093Towering Redwoods that I am camped beneath….

Majestic.  Stately.

Reaching out your arms of protection.

Shielding me from sight and light.

Hovering.  Waiting.  Encompassing.

Comforting me with your color.

Relaxing me with your fragrance.

The fairies must dance in your branches in the starlight,

Celebrating you.  Your sanctity.  Your beauty.

IMG_0097Your spirit is all strength and peace,

And as I brush against your branches I understand just a tiny bit of what you know…

About earth and sky and…..being.

For just a sweet second I see your majestic view,

And know the earth mother as she was meant to be known….

Glimpse father sky in his glory.

What secrets have you learned about the stars and the moon

As you commune with them in the darkness?

Hugging you in the silence I feel your pulse….your breath….

Your Joy to be alive.

Your life is sacred.

My life is sacred.

All life is sacred.

Hey Mickey!! I am so glad you are having a great time and all is well, and serene and looking delicious(margarita:), You did it Hurray Mickey! Love ya, Terese

    • Hi Terese! So glad you are here! I miss you guys! Yes, a Margarita in a plastic wine glass. Whatever! I’ll take it. 🙂 Hope all is well in the FBC and there is still a lot of dancing and cheering going on. :-)))
You know what I don’t miss? All those beeps, bells, and buzzers that I would go home and still be hearing when my head hit the pillow. These silent trees are a nice cure for that. Hugs and love!

Thank you, Micky, for sharing your wonderful poem! I didn’t know you were a poet, too! I was just reflecting last night how my veganism is a natural outgrowth of my love of Nature. And I see this morning in your poem you start with awe at the wondrous tree and end with “All Life is sacred.” With you every step of the way…
Thank you for the ongoing inspiration via your blog.
    Bless you!
    Love, Marian

    • Hi Marian, yes nature can sometimes bring out the poet in me. You might get things like this from time to time. 🙂 I think it’s all one…veganism is an extension of love of nature in many ways.
These trees ARE wondrous and I’m so jazzed to be sheltered by their branches for a few days….such good and peaceful energy here.
      hugs and love.

  7. Hard to believe it’s finally happening!
Looking so forward to seeing you in a few days! For the moment though I’ll just keep soaking up this beautiful energy under the Redwoods. See you soon!!!

Micky! I didn’t realize you were a talented poet… Be sure to give us more when you are inspired. Happy travels! Hugs to the fur babies.

  9. Very sweet of you Maureen. Poet yes. Talented…well…:-). You are right about inspiration. It takes that and I’m thinking I’ll have plenty of it along the way so maybe I’ll get some practice with the poetry. If it’s readable I’ll share. From the time I was a teenager till about 15 or 20 years ago I wrote poetry in my journal often. Then it tapered off and it’s something I’d like to get back into my life.
