I enjoy just ‘being’. Just being here, now, in our second week at White Spar Campground in the Prescott National Forest. “Forest” being a key word here.
I feel laid back and peaceful…mostly. Enjoying the sound of wind in the trees and watching the slender giants sway in the breeze. We walk in the morning and the evening. We visit with Kerry and Annabelle. (Leaving them soon will be hard.)
Dare I ask you to read another tree poem? Apparently trees inspire my poetic side…simple as it is. But how could they not? Trees are such amazing life forms, with so many variations, and I know some will scoff, but I feel that their vibration is peace, and patience, and protection.
PONDEROSA PINE FOREST
Long needles.

Tall and slender.

Swaying gracefully in the breeze.
Magnificent life in slow motion.
Oh….beautiful trees!
Strong and straight,
But bending, and being…
Skyward bound.
Never look down.

The wind, high in your branches
Speaks mysteries….
And histories….
And stories of wonder…
Storms of lightening….thunder.
Of fairies that flutter…
On gossamer wings…
And other magical, mystical, things.
Your language is love.
Your presence is peace and patience and protection.

I lean against your red-brown skin

And sense the gentle giant within.
A living spirit
Emanates…
Radiates…
Touches my heart. Brings a tear.
Such a privilege to walk among you here!

Feel your joy abound.
Hear your singing sound.
Smell your fragrance all around.
Such beauty to be found.
Lovely poem! I can smell the pines and can fall asleep dreaming of them tonight.
Thank you Sharron. There is nothing quite like the fragrance of a pine forest, is there. Encourages one to breathe deeply.
You made my day, Micky! I LOVE trees, too, and your poem brought them right into my office here!
I’m glad you enjoyed it Marian. 😌. It’s a bit hard for me to post my poetry.
Trees…so comforting, aren’t they? After being in the desert I realize how much I miss them.
Gorgeous – casita & poetic visualization. I always wanted to write something about the “soul of trees”.
Hi Glenda. So you feel it too…that’s good to know. I hope you do write that. I’d love to read your thoughts on it.
Beautifully written.
Thank you Velda. Very kind of you to express that.
Touching and lovely – thanks for bringing the forest to us where ever we are…can feel the breeze and smell the pines. What could be better.
Thank you Ruby Red. Your commenting reminds me about when you and I used to walk and drive in another “Forest”. I guess we didn’t much notice the trees back then. What funny girls we were…those memories bring a smile. 😌
I love love love the smell of sun on pines – very comforting!! Thanks Micky for sharing!
Hi Patty. I know, it doesn’t get much better than that does it…that piney forest smell. I love it too.
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
What are the temps like there this time of year?
Thank you Badger Rick.
It’s been warmer than usual apparently, at least for the past 2 weeks. Highs of 65 to 72 and lows mostly in the 30’s. There is a short cold snap on the way, cooling off the whole state of Arizona actually. Expecting highs in the 50’s, lows in the 20’s here in the Prescott area, plus rain and possible snow. I’ll be leaving for lower elevation the day before that happens. Seems like it’s going to be short lived though, and then back to more of the above.
I LOVE your beautiful poem and the pictures.
Thank you June, and welcome! Nice to have you here.
