From what I’ve been told the nearest grocery store is a Safeway about 23 miles away on Valencia Road, but there are a few groceries at the Ace Hardware in Three Points.  I haven’t checked these out myself.

Thanks for the information but Google Maps has the distance to that Safeway as being about 36 miles rather than 23. Even the 23 would be a bit of a stretch for me to drive my house for groceries every week.

Hi Micky! Happy to see these beautiful photos!

Oh my, did you notice that the paint horse seems to have a thorny bramble either poking its hip – or stuck there? I hope it’s just standing too close to a bramble…

sweet, sweet photo of Joy and Shiloh.

      • Well twice Eds replies got under your comment Laura. I have no idea why. Anyway, I think that picker was just near the horse, not in it. They were moving all over the place and it was hard to get a picture. We had been in the fenced area with them and as I moved towards the gate to leave they all followed, hoping to get out the gate with us I think. When I opened the gate to walk thru the area they were all far away up on a hill.

    • I think you are right Ed. As usual. :-). Allstays tells me 23 now that I checked it, but that doesn’t make sense. Google maps gives me 32 miles to Ryan Field (little airport on 86) and that makes much more sense, and Safeway would be a little beyond that.
I can’t see you wanting to make that trip in your rig every week. Would be ok for me in my truck, if I needed to do it.

I can recommend Todd’s Restaurant At Ryan Field for breakfast if you are going that way. They serve Arbuckels as their house coffee which speaks volumes about the place in my not so humble opinion.

    • Hi Ed. Somehow your answer got under Laura’s comment.

Looks like a fine spot – good for you!!

    • Loving it here Patty. A real find, for me anyway. Funny how this place stuck in my mind for years. Jim, the owner here had a lot of historic info about the ranch and he handed it all over to me to read. I couldn’t put it down till I went all through it last night. It fascinated me.
