Pictures are out of order. I seem to have no control over that. I’m sure it’s because I haven’t learned yet.
There were more pictures I wanted to share but this connection seems to be finished letting me post them!

Love the area you area going through now. Arizona and New Mexico are my 2nd and 3rd favorite states (Texas being the first!). Happy spirit filled travels!
Yes, I’m in love! This is beautiful country that I’m traveling through. The red rocks are just stunning! The most beautiful dresses and shoes are so nothing compared to this! 🙂
Thank you! There is such beauty here! Today I drove for 50 miles with a red rock wall on my left! It was hard to keep my eyes on the road. So beautiful!
Wonderful photos! I will have to add this to my list of places to visit.
In your last post you mentioned that the campground was closing for the season. Had you arrived next week instead of this week, would there still have been open campgrounds nearby where you could have parked or would you have been out of luck? Do you have any off-season camping location suggestions?
Hi Michael, Reine mentioned an area in a comment where you can do dispersed camping. As I drove the loop I noticed part of it was through Coconino National forest and there were little dirt roads. I followed a couple and found that people were camped there too. Only thing they had lots of off road vehicles around them….
When Bonito campground is closed you can do dispersed camping in the National Forest west of Hiway 89. That’s what we did when we were in the area in late October 2011.
Thanks for that info Reine. Really good to know these things.
Ron and Kathy said there is a lot of dispersed camping in the area. I guess the trick is knowing where to look, and word of mouth seems to be the way it’s done, mostly.
Love the lava photo – especially with the bright aspen leaves in the foreground. Beautiful!
The aspen are just stunning aren’t they? Hard to absorb all this beauty…but so wonderful! Feels like I’m high on something. Totally understand the feelings behind the song ‘ Rocky Mountain High’. I did cross the continental divide again today!
Great pictures Micky! I am not necessarily a yellow person until surrounded by aspen’s in their glory!! Just beautiful!
Yes they are just irresistible! :-). Even if yellow isn’t your favorite color.
